During last night’s NewsNation town hall, Bill Maher delivered a brutal reality check to Chris Cuomo about the upcoming midterms, and his warning to his own party is something Democrats may not want to hear.

It’s no secret that Maher thinks Republicans are going to lose badly, but the part that will piss off his own party is what he said next: the Democrats aren’t going to “win” either.

This is an important distinction and Maher nailed it here.

According to Maher, the biggest problem is that the DSA, far-left wing of the party may interpret a Republican defeat as a green light to push even further in the direction that got them into trouble in the first place.

During his conversation with Cuomo, the discussion turned to whether a major Republican defeat would mean Democrats had successfully made their case to the American people.

Cuomo wanted to know whether Trump and his party losing ground would actually demonstrate that voters had embraced the Democrats’ alternative.

Maher wasn’t buying it.

CUOMO: “Do you believe that if Trump takes a beating, the party takes a beating, is that the same thing saying that the Democrats made the case to the American people?”

Maher immediately burst out laughing before delivering his answer.

The comedian and political commentator argued that Democrats haven’t meaningfully moved away from the far-left “crazy” positions that have alienated voters, and he warned that a Republican setback could actually make things worse by encouraging the party’s most progressive voices.

MAHER: “They have not renounced their crazy at all! In fact, they are going full steam ahead. That’s why I’m so worried about 2028.”

“And a lot of the far-left will take it, Trump’s loss, they will misinterpret as a recommendation for what they’re trying to do.”

Midterm elections often reflect frustration with the incumbent administration, but that doesn’t automatically translate into support for the other party’s entire platform, especially when they are as kooky as the DSA’s platform.

Maher’s concern is that Democrats could take a favorable result in November as proof that their most “progressive” ideas are gaining acceptance, even if voters are motivated by something else entirely.

Maher then turned to one of the biggest ideological battles within the Democratic Party, taking aim at the left’s embrace of policies he describes as communist.

An accurate description to say the least.

He acknowledged that President Trump frequently uses the term, but said that the label shouldn’t be dismissed by the Democrats simply because it comes from Trump.

Maher pointed to government control over private industries and the means of production as the defining issue.

MAHER: “You know, the whole thing with to communism and it is communism. I know Trump says it, that doesn’t mean it’s wrong. When you talk about taking over the means of production and taking over all the private industries, that’s communism, folks! You can look it up.”

If Democrats make gains in November, the question will be what they take away from the result.

There are two very different conclusions, and Maher believes confusing them could have serious consequences for the party heading into 2028.

That’s the message Democrats may find hardest to hear from Maher: even if Republicans take a so-called “beating” in November, that doesn’t automatically mean the American people have signed on to the Democrats’ insane vision for the country.

For a commentator who constantly criticizes Republicans and President Trump, his warning hits pretty hard, though Democrats probably won’t listen.

This morning, new White House Press Secretary Katie Zacharia kicked off her first White House press briefing, calling it an “honor” to serve President Donald Trump.

She takes over from her predecessor, Karoline Leavitt, who left the White House in August to spend more time with her young children.

Those were big shoes to fill, but Zacharia wasted no time making her mark.

Here were the biggest moments from her first briefing.

Zacharia stepped up to the White House podium for the first time and opened with a cheerful “Good morning!”

She immediately went full MAGA, thanking President Trump for his trust and making it clear that working for him has been a longtime goal.

ZACHARIA: “I am so honored to work for President Trump and the American people as the new White House Press Secretary.”

“I want to thank President Trump for his trust that he has placed in me. I have wanted to work for him for a VERY long time.”

“I’m looking forward to working with each of you as well.”

Moments after greeting the press pool, Zacharia came out swinging with some eye-popping numbers on government fraud uncovered by the Trump administration.

According to the new press secretary, the administration has uncovered more than $260 billion in fraud, stopped another $72 billion in annual fraud through administrative actions, and recovered nearly $59 billion through indictments, settlements, and civil monetary penalties.

ZACHARIA: “Not only is the Trump administration bringing in trillions of dollars to invest throughout the country, but we are also protecting your tax dollars by addressing fraud head-on.”

“Since taking office, the Trump administration has uncovered over $260 billion dollars of fraud, stopped $72 billion dollars of fraud annually through administrative actions and recovered $58.9 billion through indictments, settlements and civil monetary penalties.”

These were huge numbers, and Zacharia made sure the press corps heard them loud and clear during her first appearance behind the podium.

A reporter then asked Zacharia whether she planned to continue Karoline Leavitt’s efforts to open the White House briefing room to new media voices.

Her answer was pitch perfect.

Not only did she heap praise on her predecessor, but she vowed to continue Leavitt’s efforts to expand access to the White House for new voices.

REPORTER: “One of the things that your predecessor Karoline Leavitt did is open this room up to more voices, not less.”

“Can you tell us what you plan to do to continue ensure that new media voices continue to be heard here at the White House?”

ZACHARIA: “Well, firstly, my predecessor Karoline Leavitt did an incredible job and I completely agree with the choice of the new media seat.”

“We are absolutely going to keep it and we’re going expand on it to the extent possible.”

“We love new media, and we want to be able to embrace it.”

This is a major win for independent journalism. No longer can the entire narrative be hijacked by the elites in the mainstream media.

Toward the end of the briefing, a reporter asked Zacharia about her family and specifically how she would handle the demanding role of press secretary with four children at home.

Zacharia turned the question into an opportunity to explain why family remains at the center of her life, delivering one of the briefing’s most powerful pro-family messages.

REPORTER: “Your family’s in California, your husband, you have four children. I’m wondering how you are going to manage that? Karoline Leavitt left because she wanted to spend more time with her family, and also, did you give any advice on how to handle this job and the people in this room?”

ZACHARIA: “Well, first of all, I want to give my husband an amazing shout out. We have four kids — so we have a handful and I adore my family. I love them, they are my priority, I love being with my kids. The idea of not spending evenings with my kid is kids are is completely unacceptable.”

Zacharia went on to explain that Leavitt had been an incredible source of support as she prepared to take on the role, offering advice on navigating the demands of the job while making time for her children.

“Yes, Karoline has been an incredible support. She gave me great and wonderful feedback on how to balance. I think this job is not one you necessarily balance, and I would love to share that in my career I stayed home with my kids from 2014 to 2020, and in the process of having them, and then when I started working again, I was able to integrate them into my life.”

She praised President Trump for being “the most family-friendly president” the United States has ever had. Zacharia pointed out that Trump knew she had four children and understood how demanding the press secretary role would be, yet still trusted her to take on the responsibility.

“So I intend to, to the extent possible, include my family, include my kids in my work. Though my work will be demanding, they will always be a priority.”

“President Trump is the most family-friendly president we’ve ever had. He has hired more women with families, and the fact that he knew I had four kids and he knew that this job would be demanding, and still placed his trust in me shows that I know I’m capable being able to step up to that.”

It was a strong closing message from Zacharia.

She made it clear that her family will always come first while expressing gratitude for a president who trusted her to take on one of the most visible and demanding jobs in his administration.

This morning on State of the Union, Tapper grilled Mullin over Thursday’s ICE shooting in the Bronx, repeatedly questioning whether agents needed to change their tactics because a child was in the backseat.

But Mullin wasn’t about to let Tapper turn the entire incident into an indictment of ICE while ignoring the actions of the man behind the wheel.

His response was brutal but decisive, immediately putting Tapper in his place.

On Thursday, 28-year-old illegal alien Oscar Belgal was shot after an encounter with two ICE officers in the Bronx.

Belgal is a criminal from the Dominican Republic with a lengthy rap sheet, and who authorities say has direct ties to the Trinitarios street gang in New York.

The encounter ensued after Belgal was stopped in his vehicle by two ICE agents and reportedly accelerated toward the agents, before the confrontation continued roughly half a block away on Marble Hill Avenue.

Gunfire erupted, leaving Belgal with a gunshot wound to the neck.

His 5-year-old son was in the backseat throughout the ordeal but escaped unharmed.

Tapper seized on the presence of the child to challenge ICE’s tactics, asking Mullin whether agents should have done more to ensure no child was inside the vehicle before opening fire.

He was essentially trying to spin up a narrative that would have the blame lie with ICE agents for Belgal putting his child in harm’s way.

TAPPER: “I’m just asking about the tactics. I’m not defending the character of any of these gentlemen because obviously, one of the reasons this has gotten so much attention is that Oscar Belgal’s five-year-old son was in the back seat of the car.”

“Now, you have said that the agents were not aware that there was this child in the backseat of the car. But I wonder also about, in terms of tactics, shouldn’t agents be checking for things like that before they fire into the vehicle?”

“Thankfully, the kid’s fine, but if this was a targeted operation, they were surveilling Mr. Belgal, are you 100% sure that the tactics being used don’t need to change in any way?”

Mullin wasn’t going to allow Tapper to get away with pinning the responsibility for putting that child in danger on his officers. His answer was direct.

MULLIN: “Well, let’s be clear about this too. Do you know who knew the five- year-old was in the car? Oscar did.”

Mullin then brought his own experience as a father into the discussion, making the point that a parent has a responsibility to protect their child, especially when confronted by law enforcement.

“If I’m a father, which I am a father of six, and I’m going to do everything I can to protect my child, I promise you I would be obeying the lawful commands that were given.”

“The last thing I would have done is put my son or one of my kids in danger.”

He went on to describe the reckless actions Belgal took during the encounter, arguing that the decision to accelerate toward officers had put everyone in the vehicle at risk.

“He chose to accelerate at a rate of speed, hit the vehicle in front, flare off and accelerate towards officers in another vehicle. He was a selfish individual. Why would you ever put your child into into situations like that?”

Tapper quickly tried to backtrack, reiterating that he wasn’t defending Belgal.

TAPPER: “Again, I’m not defending him.”

But Mullin wanted to address Tapper’s original question about the tactics themselves, explaining how the methods used by ICE officers were consistent with those used by law enforcement agencies across the country.

He pointed out that undercover operations are a routine part of policing, and that officers often approach suspects in plain clothes. Nothing was different with this encounter.

MULLIN: “I know but let’s talk about undercover police officers. Every single department, I don’t care if it’s state, if it’s local, if it’s county or if it’s federal, they all have undercover divisions and undercover divisions make arrests every single day in plain clothes.”

“When they approached the vehicle, they had their badges out. You can see that their badge was out and they were giving lawful commands.”

“So the tactics that are used are the same tactics that are used by law enforcement from coast to coast, from local, city, state to federal.”

There it is.

Tapper wanted answers about ICE’s tactics. Mullin made it clear that he wasn’t going to let the conversation ignore the driver’s actions or the responsibility that comes with putting a child in the backseat of a car.

When Tapper tried to turn the incident into another attack on ICE, Mullin refused to let him control the narrative.

It’s worth taking a closer listen to his words.

Standing in Greece, surrounded by thousands of years of history, Rubio began talking about what makes someone a hero.

His answer had nothing to do with fame, power or popularity.

It came down to duty.

But as Rubio explained, there is a stark difference between the heroes of the West and those celebrated by its enemies.

Rubio had spent much of the speech explaining how ancient Greece helped shape the political and moral traditions that eventually became part of Western civilization.

Now he was talking about one of the most basic ideas that came out of that tradition — that character is revealed when doing the right thing becomes difficult.

These are the same traits that have made the Western civilization what it is today.

That is the kind of heroism Rubio says the West must never lose sight of.

Not a culture that glorifies death for its own sake, but one that values life enough to recognize the people who are willing to sacrifice theirs to protect it.

This was the distinction he wanted the audience to walk away with.

The soldier of the West fights not because he hates what is in front of him, but because he loves what is behind him.

It’s a very powerful message.

With the ancient citadel of the Acropolis in the background, the sun began to set over Athens, Greece. Standing at a podium in front was Secretary of State Marco Rubio, preparing to deliver an address to his Greek counterparts.

Everyone was expecting the standard foreign policy speech, but what Rubio delivered was far from that.

Using ancient Greek history as his anchor, Rubio connected the birthplace of Western politics and culture to the founding of the United States and delivered one of the greatest defenses of Western civilization ever uttered by a sitting American official.

He was talking about something much bigger than foreign policy.

It was a warning to Europe — the West is something that must be preserved, not forgotten.

These were the moments that stood out.

MS NOW recently went to Michigan to speak with two groups of Democrat voters who both supported Rep. Haley Stevens in the Senate primary.

The first group was Black voters from Wayne County, and the second was Jewish Democrats from Oakland County.

Both groups delivered the exact same message to Abdul El-Sayed — They are NOT sold on him.

Just for context, Jewish voters make up roughly 1.5–2% of Michigan’s electorate, while Black voters account for around 12% of the state’s voters.

Historically, Democrats have rarely ended up winning in Michigan without a strong statewide Black voter turnout.

Without both of these groups supporting his campaign, El-Sayed could be in MAJOR trouble in November.

MS NOW perfectly captured two moments that show exactly what Democrats are dealing with in Michigan.

MS NOW started with Black voters from Wayne County, asking them about the Senate race between Abdul El-Sayed and Mike Rogers.

It didn’t go well for El-Sayed.

You don’t even have to listen closely to what these voters are saying. They outwardly feel as though their votes are being taken for granted. The same thing could be said about any Democrat race across the United States. The DNC automatically assumes that Black voters will vote Democrat, regardless of the candidate.

VOTER 1: “I think there’s some missed opportunities for him to help us know who he is, help us understand him. We don’t know him.”

VOTER 2: “I think he’s taking advantage that we as Black people are Democratic, and he thinks we’re going to vote for him anyway. And I’m like, no, sir! I’m going to put uncommitted down on that little circle and move on.”

“If you’re going to Congress to represent me, I need you to talk about what’s going on in this community.”

That’s the bottom line.

El-Sayed is banking on the Black vote in Michigan, but from what these voters are saying on the ground, that’s far from guaranteed.

But El-Sayed performed terribly with Black voters in Detroit during the Democratic primary, receiving just 31% of the vote against Haley Stevens.

Hence why they’re bringing in former President Barack Obama to stump for him.

They must see some internal polling that does not look good for El-Sayed.

When MS NOW asked a third Black voter what would take him “over the finish line” to vote for El-Sayed, his answer was even more troubling for the El-Sayed campaign.

VOTER 3: “I don’t what I’m going to do. Honestly…”

Pressing again, MS NOW asked this voter what was holding him back from voting for for El-Sayed.

VOTER 3: “Not knowing enough about him.”

At the end of the day it comes down to a trust issue, and for the Black community in Michigan, voting for El-Sayed could be a bridge too far.

The block of Jewish Democrat voters also had similar concerns about voting for El-Sayed.

At one point, a Jewish, lifelong Democrat from Oakland County, Michigan admitted on MS NOW that she’s likely going to vote for Republican Mike Rogers over Abdul El-Sayed.

You just know MS NOW hated airing this moment. It was an incredible display of the consequences of electing radical Democrat candidates. Eventually, voters will simply bow out and cross party lines.

VOTER: “My daughter goes to University of Detroit Mercy. She’s in her second year of law school, and she has to hide being Jewish.”

“And it’s a hard thing to say when October 7th came. Horrible for her. Lots of tears...”

“I may go to Mike Rogers. Sorry, guys.”

It was a pretty remarkable admission from a lifelong Democrat.

Last night, California gubernatorial candidates Steve Hilton (R) and Xavier Becerra (D) faced off in a heated CNN debate.

The hourlong duel saw the two candidates slug it out over some of the biggest issues facing voters in California, including soaring taxes, illegal immigration, AI regulation, housing and homelessness.

Becerra, who previously served as HHS Secretary under President Biden, came into the debate as the leading Democrat in a blue state. But last night belonged solely to Mr. Hilton.

From the moment Hilton stepped onto that stage, he was launching brutal attacks at Becerra, and his arsenal was deadly.

He came prepared with numbers, receipts and specific examples from Becerra’s record.

However, there was one moment that changed everything.

The news broke early this morning from the War Department, signaling the formal end of the U.S. mission in Iraq, closing one of the longest and most disastrous chapters of America’s post-9/11 foreign policy.

The war began in 2003 under President George W. Bush, but more than two decades later, President Donald Trump is the one overseeing the final withdrawal of the last remaining American forces from the country.

He’s bringing them all home. It was finally happening.

Nearly 4,500 U.S. service members lost their lives during the Iraq War.

Chief Pentagon Spokesman Sean Parnell released a lengthy statement outlining exactly what was happening and what the end of the mission means for the future relationship between the United States and Iraq.

PARNELL: “Today, the United States and our Coalition partners formally concluded Operation Inherent Resolve in Iraq, consistent with the September 2024 U.S.-Iraq joint statement and U.S. national interests.”

The immediate military mission has now come to an end, with Coalition forces and equipment departing Erbil Air Base.

“The orderly departure of Coalition forces and equipment from Erbil Air Base marks the successful conclusion of the military mission that defeated ISIS in Iraq.”

“This milestone reflects the success of a 12-year campaign that defeated ISIS as an organized military threat in Iraq and across the region. It also marks a transition from a wartime coalition mission to an Iraqi-led security effort supported by a more normal bilateral security relationship.”

Later, President Trump announced the withdrawal himself during an event for Hispanic Americans at the White House.

And judging by the reaction in the room, the announcement was exactly the kind of news his audience wanted to hear.

TRUMP: “I wanted to announce something that I’m also very proud of. Today I am pleased to announce that the last American forces are leaving Iraq.”

[Crowd erupts into cheers and applause]

Trump didn’t hold back at all, describing the Iraq War in much harsher terms, calling the decades-long conflict a “quagmire” and exposing how America’s involvement stemmed from years of bad decision-making.

“It’s been a long time with very bad decision making that got us involved in this quagmire in the first place. It was a quagmire.”

“Many, many years it lasted, but soon that part of history will be over.”

Trump then pointed to the political future of Iraq, praising the country’s new prime minister, Ali al-Zaidi, whom Trump said he had supported from the beginning.

“This is a great day for America and importantly we leave with Iraq having a wonderful new prime minister, Ali al-Zaidi. Fantastic guy, a friend of mine.”

“And somebody I supported from the very beginning and I fully endorsed. He was running for election. He wasn’t given even a chance and I endorsed him, politicked for him a little bit and he ended up winning in a virtual landslide, beating somebody that was not a good person in my opinion.”

“So I’m very proud of him and hopefully he’s going to do a fantastic job.”

After 23 years, the U.S. military mission in Iraq is now officially over.

What began as an interview with a former Congressman quickly turned into one of the most thunderous exposés of Congress itself.

On his Club Random podcast this week, Bill Maher sat down with former Republican Rep. George Santos.

Santos has had his fair share of controversies over the past few years — culminating in him being expelled from Congress and serving prison time after pleading guilty to wire fraud and aggravated identity theft, though his sentence was eventually commuted by President Trump in October 2025.

With all of that said, Santos no longer has political aspirations and therefore he was the perfect person to exhume all of Congress’s skeletons.

After all, he knows where the bodies are buried.

The conversation eventually came around to politics, and Maher immediately used the opportunity to go after President Trump as a known liar.

He was trying to make the issue about Trump and the Republican Party.

MAHER: “I mean, you just look at what goes on and what they say — I mean, you defended Trump for not being a liar — it’s so casual. Most of it doesn’t even bother me, I just accept it.”

“Like when he says — not on big things — but like he was at his midterm convention in Dallas week — and he said, you know, the place is packed. You could see it wasn’t. There were people outside waiting to get in, there was no one outside.”

“I mean, when you can catch someone in real time, so obviously [lying], it’s just like, well we’re obviously living in an age where enough people just don’t care.”

“They just don’t care!”

That’s when Santos stepped in.

He pointed out that the same accusations can be said about politicians on both sides. This isn’t something unique to Trump or Republicans.

Maher immediately agreed.

MAHER: “True! I’m not saying that either. It can on both sides, yes.”

And that set Santos up perfectly for what he was about to reveal to Maher.

That’s when Santos blew up the entire narrative. He went on to expose the innerworkings and backrooms deals between the uniparty inCongress.

Even Bill Maher was taken aback when he heard it. It was mind-blowingly corrupt.

This is a man who was actually there, so it’s worth listening to the entire two-minute exchange.

Santos began by explaining how his entire worldview was turned upside down when he first arrived in Congress and then-Senator Ryan Zinke told him that “it’s all theater.”

He even got into specifics about how he says the votes themselves are “bullsh*t.”

SANTOS: “I witnessed it vote after vote…you got a pick side on an issue. Yes, no…so you pick a side, the less of the two evils.”

“If I tell you the amount of of times that the votes were just bullsh*t. Messaging bills.”

Maher immediately brought Senator Fetterman into the conversation.

MAHER: “That’s what John Fetterman says.”

SANTOS: “It’s all F*CKING Kabuki theater!”

“At the end of the day it ends in pizza. You know what that means?”

MAHER: “You order pizza?”

And then came the most devastating part of Santos’ take on Congress. It was a bombshell.

That’s one of the most stunning indictments of Congress you’re ever going to hear from someone who was actually there and saw how the sausage gets made.

Maher gave Santos credit for what he had just disclosed.

MAHER: “That all rings like utter truth to me…”

After Santos ripped the mask off the Congress charade, Maher pointed out that Fetterman has been one of the lone voices sounding the alarm about the “bullsh*t” votes taking place for a while.

MAHER: “And it is exactly what John Fetterman says.”

Maher and Santos then spent a full minute heaping praise on Fetterman.

SANTOS: “I love John Fetterman by the way!”

MAHER: “I do too!”

SANTOS: “Love him! I have told the GOP, I will vote for John Fetterman, I don’t care in which party he is.”

Maher then turned his fire toward Democrats for attacking Fetterman.

MAHER: “They always get on him for not…he misses all these votes and he says, ‘You know what? Your votes are bullsh*t!’”

“And I’m just not going to play your stupid game and waste my time…it is a waste of time. It’s theater.”

Fetterman has carved out a reputation as someone willing to go against his own party, expose the corruption and that’s exactly what Maher and Santos were praising here.

Last night’s episode of HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher had a few moments that will likely make some Democrats a little uncomfortable, to say the least.

Maher has never been afraid of dishing it out to Republicans or President Trump — in fact, it’s one of his favorite pastimes — but every once in a while he turns his fire toward the hypocrisy on his own side of the political aisle.

That happened in three separate instances on last night’s show.

None of these moments fit particularly well with the standard partisan narrative, which is probably why they were so interesting to watch.

Maher Calls Out the Bizarre Democrat Obsession With Wearing Masks

Bill Maher brought up the phenomenon of people on the left still wearing masks while talking with neuroscientist Andrew Huberman.

This was a very important conversation because almost no one else on Bill Maher’s side is willing to admit what’s happening.

As Maher pointed out, COVID was five years ago, yet if you look at an image from a DSA meeting last week, you would think the pandemic was still raging.

It’s very strange.

Huberman, who has studied the human brain extensively, came to the same conclusion as Maher: this is a political statement.

HUBERMAN: “Yeah, I was thinking a lot about this recently. I think it relates to the Banksy painting.”

“You know, the mask with the protester. I think It’s a political statement, right?”

“Also when people wear masks I often think, you know they have this…I don’t want to call it an advantage, but they have a vantage point where they can see you but you can’t really see them. It’s also a way of remaining anonymous.”

That’s the irrationality nobody wants to talk about.

The COVID mask is no longer about protecting yourself from infection. It’s now a symbol that has been weaponized by the left as part of their costume.

It’s their version of a MAGA hat.

A New York Times Reporter Gets a Reality Check on Trump’s Media Policy

The second moment came during a discussion about President Trump’s ongoing fight with the media.

Bill Maher and his panel went directly to this story like moths to a flame.

New York Times reporter Jonathan Swan was spiraling over President Trump barring CNN and MS NOW from the White House, until author James Kirchick reminded him of some of the Obama-era media scandals.

KIRCHICK: “During the Obama administration they tapped the AP bureau’s phones and the phones of AP bureau reporters. They tapped their phones!”

“And they named James Rosen, a Fox News journalist, as an unindicted co-conspirator in a leak case.”

Maher then stepped in because, as he pointed out, he had actually looked into the issue himself. He backed up some of the claims and seconded Kirchick’s point about the Obama administration.

He recalled former Obama press secretary Josh Earnest acknowledging that the White House had excluded Fox News from certain news-making interviews.

MAHER: “I looked this up about freezing out one…they did it with Fox News. Josh Earnest, he was in the Obama administration. He admitted it.”

“The White House has demonstrated our willingness to exclude Fox News from news making interviews.”

Maher then brought up former Obama adviser Anita Dunn, who he said had openly discussed treating Fox News like a political opponent.

“Anita Dunn, she was also in the Obama [administration], she said; “We’re going to treat them the way we treat an opponent.”

Maher went on to expose how the Democrats and the media don’t seem to have a problem with these tactics when their preferred administration was doing them.

Maher nailed the hypocrisy in one sentence. Well done.

Maher Ends the Show by Praising Trump for Cracking Down on Crime

The last moment was probably the most shocking because it was so unexpected.

Bill Maher spent one of the final minutes of his show heaping massive praise on President Trump for taking a sledgehammer to crime.

You won’t hear any other Democrats giving Trump credit on this topic.

Maher pointed out that the decline wasn’t limited to drug crime.

MAHER: “And it’s not just drug crime that’s way down. It’s all crime! And again, probably much of that is not political, it’s because you can’t move two inches in America without being tracked, photographed, and followed by a flock camera.”

“But it’s also because when Democrats expand the safety net there are less desperate people…”

Maher’s point was that although he doesn’t agree with all of Trump’s methods on crime, anyone who denies that Trump is having an effect on crime is being “childish.”

MAHER: “Is doing it this way the right thing? No.”

“But it’s just childish to pretend that when you elect a ‘F*ck around and find out’ president, a no more Mr. nice guy, boot in your ass, V for Vendetta, kick ass and take names, ‘say hello to my little friend’ president, that that’s not gonna have some effect on crime!”

“He has UFC fights on the lawn. I think the bad guys got the message!”

Maher may disagree with Trump on plenty of things, but even he seems to recognize something a lot of people on the left refuse to admit — projecting strength and making criminals believe there will be consequences can have an effect.

Ro Khanna’s attempt to present himself as a “moderate” Democrat got put under some serious pressure on CNBC this morning.

During his appearance on Squawk Box, Khanna was hammered by the panel about the Democratic Party’s socialist wing and how his own positions fit alongside it.

Khanna has desperately tried to portray himself as a center-left figure within the party, but every chance he gets, he openly embraces the socialists.

Once the questioning started, there was nowhere for him to hide and he began to unravel.

It quickly devolved into a pretty brutal interview.

Here are the four moments that turned the whole segment on its head.

This was a long overdue clash.

Seconds after CNBC’s Joe Kernen welcomed Democrat Congressman Ro Khanna to his show, he called him out for his constant flip-flopping and attempts to appease the socialist wing of his own party.

KERNEN: “Let’s bring in Congressman Ro Khanna of California, representing the heart of Silicon Valley, he’s a ranking member of the China Select Committee.”

Kernen even told Khanna he would no longer be his wingman if he planned to run in 2028.

“We’ve talked about a Ro/Joe or a Joe/Ro ticket. Lately, I’ve looked — I still love you, but I’ve looked at some of your comments and I wonder — I hardly knew this man, apparently.”

Khanna tried to laugh it off.

KHANNA: “Oh, come on, Joe!”

Kernen pressed him about his ties to the socialists right out of the gate.

No one else has held Khanna’s feet to the flames over this, but Kernen did an incredible job here.

KERNEN: “No, before we get started, I’m just wondering, are you this reasonable capitalist that represents Silicon Valley and a friend of technology?”

“Or are you some DSA spouting nut job that hangs out with Hasan Piker and backs the guy in Michigan and in Maine?”

Khanna quickly tried to change the subject by talking about his book, but Kernen kept hammering him.

KERNEN: “What happened to the Democratic Party?”

Khanna refused to answer Kernen’s question directly.

KHANNA: “The Democratic Party understands that the economy is working for my district, right? It’s one third of the nation’s wealth is in my district or the 50 miles surrounding it. And it’s not working for the people I grew up with. In Pennsylvania.”

It was a great moment because it showed how Kernen is quickly becoming one of the most sane voices in all of mainstream news. He’s having the tough conversations that no one else in media is willing to have.

You could tell Ro Khanna was really hoping this was going to be a friendly segment on Squawk Box this morning — it was not.

Things only got worse for Khanna from there, once he was pressed on his specific policies.

Scott Jennings, the lone conservative voice on CNN, took a victory lap for President Trump on the air last night over his new Greenland Deal and it was a thing of beauty.

All of the other panelists had to just sit there and listen, as Scott reminded them of how the left screeched and sneered for months, claiming that Trump was undermining American foreign policy and endangering our relationship with Denmark.

He pointed out correctly, that the remarks from the Danish prime minister yesterday were completely pro-America and pro-Trump.

Jennings forced the CNN panel to acknowledge the fact that despite all of their hysteria over President Trump’s vision for Greenland, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen herself heaped praise on both Trump and the United States.

These were the same doomers who said a deal between the U.S. and Greenland would NEVER happen.

As per usual, they were wrong.

JENNINGS: “It was a momentous thing.”

“And for a year and a half or almost two years now, I’ve been listening to everyone have a complete and total hysterical meltdown about this, about how we’ve ruined our relationship with Denmark, about how this has weakened Europe and weakened NATO, blah, blah, blah.”

“If you listen to her speech today, it could not have been more pro-American and pro-Trump and pro national security, and it was perfect!”

“And it got done despite all of the hysteria.”

“So when I hear the same hysteria, people coming out here and claiming somehow we’ve decimated the entire Iranian military, and that means they’re winning…I somehow feel like maybe, just maybe, we’re on the right track!”

It was a bang on take from Jennings.

Judging by the looks on their faces, they knew he had a point.

Today, President Trump made history by addressing the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly at the UN Headquarters in New York City.

In his nearly forty-minute-long speech, Trump made it known to the globalists around the world that America is back.

He did not shy away from any of the tough topics. This was a no-holds-barred speech.

Trump looked the Iranian delegation directly in the eye and told them that the United States will not bend or bow to their terrorist regime.

There were a few moments when the place erupted into cheers for the president, and one where a delegation walked out.

Here were the best moments from the day.

Trump begins his address by declaring: “America is back.”

President Trump kicked off his speech at the UN General Assembly by reminding the world who’s boss.

It was definitely a statement right out of the gate.

TRUMP: “Mr. President, Mr. Secretary General, First Lady of the United States, distinguished delegates, ambassadors and fellow leaders — it’s my great honor to welcome the world to America, as we celebrate two-hundred and fifty years of glorious freedom Independence.”

“Two and a half centuries after the cause of liberty found its home on this continent, I can report to you with pride that America is back and our country is stronger today than ever before.”

Trump then went on to tout the American economy, military and technology sectors as three of the most important areas where the United States leads the rest of the world.

“Our economy is the envy of the world. Our military is the most powerful on Earth. Our technology is second to none. And we are leading in virtually everything.”

“Our energy is fueling the planet. America is rising. Our nation is growing. Our power is expanding. Our country is doing better than ever before. And our future is very, very bright.”

For an opening message at the UN, Trump made it pretty clear what he wanted everyone in that room to hear —America is back, and the United States is operating from a position of strength.

Trump touts U.S. economy as the best in the world.

From his opening statement, President Trump then went straight into the economy driving the nation.

He explained to the United Nations why the U.S. economy remains the number one powerhouse in the world.

Then he dropped some huge numbers. He was letting the world know that the United States remains open for business.

TRUMP: “From day one, my administration has worked to remove every single unnecessary regulation and obstacle to doing business in America.”

“We passed the largest tax cuts in American history and as a result, more money is being invested in the United States right now that has ever been invested in ANY nation anywhere in the world.”

“U.S. stock markets have set eighty all-time records and that’s just in the last twelve months.”

“We’ve secured commitments were twenty-one trillion dollars in new investment from all over the planet, compared to less than one trillion dollars in four years, in the previous administration.”

Trump seized the opportunity to double down on the how far the U.S. has come in just the past two years under his leadership.

The most secure border in American history.

After the economy came the border. What the president was about to reveal about the U.S. border was nothing short of miraculous.

Before taking office, he called it “the most dangerous border on Earth,” now, just two years after Biden’s border bloodbath, Trump had a new term to describe the border.

TRUMP: “Before I took office, we had the worst and most dangerous border on Earth, and now we have the most secure border in American history.”

“Nobody comes in, unless they’re invited. Unless they have permission.”

Then he provided some statistics that no one will be able to refute. This is a massive win for border security.

“In the past sixteen months, ZERO illegal aliens have been admitted to the United States — and that’s done by some very sophisticated people. It’s not done by the Trump administration.”

“Zero!”

Securing the border had many correlated effects, specifically violent crime, with the U.S. murder rate plummeting to its lowest level in over a century.

“As a result last year we achieved the largest drop in violent crime ever recorded.”

“The murder rate has plummeted to its lowest level in 125 five years, since the year 1900.”

Trump went on to highlight the drastic measures that have been taken by his administration in American cities to eliminate violent crime.

“I sent our crime busters into Memphis, Tennessee and New Orleans, Louisiana and crime in each place went down over 80% — it’ll go down still further.”

“More importantly, when I arrived on January 20th of last year in Washington, D.C., it was riddled with crime, and now crime is down 87% and we’re going for 100.”

But that was all a preamble for what came next.

Trump sends a powerful message to Iran, and to those nations who ignore their threats.

It will go down as one of the most consequential moments of his entire address.

As the elites in Hollywood continue to freak out over the possibility of Paramount leaving California, the UFC president made it pretty clear that he couldn’t care less where the company decides to set up shop.

During his post-fight press conference on Saturday, White said Paramount has been the “best television partner” he’s ever worked with, despite only being in business with them for 8–9 months.

Then a reporter asked whether Paramount potentially leaving California could have any “trickle-down” effect on the UFC.

The answer was classic Dana.

REPORTER: “And so a big talk in LA this week is that Paramount may be leaving California.”

“Has that had any trickle-down into the UFC sector the relationship?”

WHITE: “In what way?”

REPORTER: “Well, they…”

WHITE: “These guys can be in f*cking Aruba! I mean, we’re still going to do what we do.”

[Silence]

“Yeah, that’s their business, not mine.”

This week on Bill Maher’s latest episode of his Club Random podcast, he got a stunning reality check on President Trump’s immigration policy from a very unlikely guest.

Psychiatrist Dr. Daniel Amen had just told the story of how his father, an immigrant from Lebanon, came to America and eventually became chairman of a multi-billion-dollar company, Unified Grocers.

Maher had started by praising the kind of immigrant story Amen had just described. But, out of nowhere, he quickly turned it into a criticism of President Trump’s immigration policies.

MAHER: “This what is awesome about America that we are flirting with ruining. We attract the best, smartest, most ambitious people from everywhere.”

“This was always our secret sauce, and you know who, is with this…”

“You know, we did need to close the border but—”

That “but” is where Amen jumped in.

Instead of allowing the conversation to become another argument about Trump destroying America’s tradition of immigration, Amen asked Maher to consider why the administration had taken such a hard line on the border in the first place.

MAHER: “Yes, totally.”

“Closing the border is something we needed to do. I totally give him credit for that. Then they went…”

And then, almost as quickly as he had started the argument, Maher backed away from it.

“Okay, we don’t have to get into that.”

[Dr. Amen chuckles]

“What I’m saying is like people like your father always…you know…that is why I still believe in this country so much.”

That was the moment.

You could tell Maher was ready to take the conversation somewhere else, but Amen clearly wasn’t going to let him frame Trump’s border policy that way.

Amen wasn’t willing to allow his own father’s story be used as an argument against securing the border.

Maher knew he didn’t have the cards, and he had no other choice but to fold.

Suddenly, it was evident that Amen had just forced Maher to agree with one of Trump’s biggest immigration arguments before trying to move on.

On the latest episode of HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher there were two moments that stood out above all of the rest.

They came from completely different conversations, but both had the same basic theme…Maher refusing to go along with something he thought was ridiculous, even when the person making the argument was coming from his own side of the political aisle.

His guests on the panel were Jessica Tarlov, the leftist from Fox News, and Christopher Rufo, the center-right conservative of the Manhattan Institute.

The first instance happened during a conversation with Tarlov, when Maher was genuinely stunned after she told him that Democrats are “less crazy” now on social issues.

The second came when Maher weighed in on the recent Macklemore controversy and asked why musicians feel the need to turn concerts into political rallies in the first place.

Both moments were perfect examples of Maher’s willingness to call out the absurdity, regardless of where it’s coming from.

The crowd was energized and ready to ignite throughout the entire event, and every major speaker seemed to find another way to send the place into an absolute frenzy.

The media and the Democrats are out in full force today calling the first night of the Republican Midterm Convention in Dallas a “failure.”

In many ways Charlie was a preacher.

He was the man in the arena, going from college campus to college campus to have important conversations, despite many of those environments being hostile to him and everything he stood for.

He knew it had to be done.

Charlie possessed the unique ability to convince the younger to care about politics and faith in a way that had never been seen before.

There is no question that the void he left in the conservative movement is still felt today, and it will likely be felt forever by those who were inspired by him and carried his mission forward.

Charlie also had an innate understanding of the political movements shaping the West, and what it would take for conservatives to win.

He called it a “spiritual battle.”

These words from Charlie hit differently today:

KIRK: “We are in the driver’s seat, and that comes with a lot of obligation. We are the cultural force, we are ascendant. The bad guys are scattered, confused and afraid. And they will be back.”

“God gave us a reprieve so that we can reload, that we can lean in, and that we can make the conservative movement stronger than ever before.”

“This is the greatest country ever to exist in the history in the world. And I can say, wow. There was a debate. Is God done with this country? Now, I can say confidently, no. God is not done with America and our best days are ahead.”

There will never be another one like him.

One of the most humbling moments in our short three-year history was when Charlie followed us on X and shared our work. It might seem like a small thing, but to us, it meant the world.

We will never forget that he believed in what we were doing.
