Over 70% of Millennial aged and younger women identify as Liberal feminists b/c the party was overtly feminized. In Congress, in both houses, approximately 73.3% of all women are liberal Democrats. The women took over the party and feminized it. This is why it is so radically different from the Democrat part of just 25-30 years back.
During the Clinton era the Republicans and Democrats definitely fought but they were better at negotiating a compromise and that's because the Democrats had not yet been overtly feminized and the parties ideology allowed to run wild.
