4 killed, 3 injured in mass shooting at birthday pool party in Florence, Kentucky
SUMMARY
A mass shooting at a birthday pool party in Florence, Kentucky, early Saturday left four dead and three injured, according to the Florence Police Department. Officers responded to a private residence at 2:51 a.m. and discovered victims both outside and inside the home. The suspect, Chase Garvey, 21, fled the scene, but police caught up with him after a car chase that ended in a crash. Garvey died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The victims were identified as Shane Miller, 20, Hayden Rybicki, 20, Delaney Eary, 19, and Melissa Parrett, 44. Three injured survivors are in critical but stable condition. Chief Jeff Mallery, visibly emotional, noted this was the first mass shooting Florence has experienced.
