IDF strikes Hamas terror targets in East Rafah

The IDF Spokesperson announced on Monday night that the military carried out targeted strikes against Hamas terror targets in Eastern Rafah. The War Cabinet approved continuing the operation in Rafah to apply military pressure on Hamas and work towards the release of Israeli hostages and other war objectives. Despite Hamas's acceptance of a ceasefire proposal from Qatar and Egypt, Israel plans to pursue a ground operation in Rafah while also exploring the possibility of an agreement under acceptable conditions. A former senior Israeli security source suggested that Hamas's proposed deal for a ceasefire and prisoner exchange was not genuine and may have been an attempt to stall Israel's ground incursion.
