Taiwan: 14 Chinese Military Jets Crossed Strait's Median

Taiwan's defense ministry reported that it detected 14 Chinese military aircraft crossing the median line in the Taiwan Strait within the past 24 hours. This continues a trend of Chinese military incursions into the area, despite the historical role of the median line as an unofficial border between Taiwan and China. On Saturday, Taiwan observed further Chinese military activity, with 12 aircraft crossing the median line near Taiwan. These actions come shortly after U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken's visit to China, where he stressed the need for peace and stability across the strait. Despite increased pressure from China, which views Taiwan as its own territory, Taiwan's government remains firm in its rejection of China's claims.
