Scott Jennings: “We have a Commander in Chief right now who is decisive and who knows how to operate a government—with absolute precision.”

To some, President Trump’s sudden strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities came out of nowhere. But not to CNN commentator and GOP strategist Scott Jennings.

During a CNN panel discussion, host Kasie Hunt asked Jennings to explain Trump’s decision-making process behind the airstrikes—especially considering how unexpected the move seemed to many within the MAGA movement.

“What can you help us understand about the president's decision-making process here?” she asked. “Because certainly, there are many in MAGA world who may have been surprised that he did this.”

Jennings didn’t hesitate.

“Why would you be surprised?” he shot back.

“I mean, Donald Trump has been clear-eyed and full of resolve about the Iranian threat for 20 years.”

According to Jennings, this strike was entirely in line with Trump’s long-standing belief: peace is impossible if Iran possesses a nuclear weapon.

“He has always said that you can't have peace if Iran has a nuclear weapon.”

Jennings added that behind the scenes, the White House and Pentagon have been operating like a well-oiled machine.

“My observations of him over the last few months is that things are running quite smoothly over in the White House and at the Pentagon,” he said.

Then came the kicker.

“Look what happened. The deception that was involved here, no leaks, the resolve, the precision execution.”

“We have a Commander in Chief right now who is decisive and who knows how to operate a government and operate a military operation with absolute precision.”

But perhaps the most telling part of Jennings’ remarks was his view on what this operation means for the rest of the world.

“The level of deterrence that this will put throughout the world that our enemies should be perceiving is very, very high,” he said.

His final message was blunt:

“This is a great day for this president and it's a great day for the world because he's making us safe for Western civilization.”
