While Nashville’s Democrat mayor Freddie O'Connell continues to attempt to obstruct ICE operations, Border Czar Tom Homan isn’t backing down an inch.
Homan vowed to ramp up immigration enforcement efforts after the city rolled out a controversial new “Belonging Fund” designed to support illegal aliens.
The fund has sparked outrage among those who believe it encourages lawbreaking and undermines federal law.
“The mayor’s no different,” Homan said.
“You can choose not to cooperate with ICE, if that’s your political agenda—but the second you get in our way or impede our efforts, we will seek prosecution. That’s the line.”
Homan made it clear this isn’t business as usual. It’s personal—and it’s tactical.
“As far as the 'Belonging Fund' that he’s supporting,” he added, “I have my own belonging fund. We can give housing, food, and free medical care in ICE detention.”
Then came the warning shot heard across the city:
“That’s exactly what we’re going to do in Nashville. We’re going to flood the zone with agents—multi-agency: FBI, DEA, ICE, U.S. Marshals—and we’re going to flood the zone.”
The message was simple: If city officials will attempt to obstruct immigration enforcement, Homan will bring in the full weight of federal force.
“If he wants to push back and support sanctuary cities, that means we flood the zone,” Homan repeated.
“We’ll flood the zone in the neighborhood to find the guy. We’ll flood the zone at work sites to find the bad guy.”
And he made it crystal clear:
“We are going to do it—and he is not going to stop us.”
